🌍 3rd Annual MISTRAL Project Meeting Held in Kraków and Rybnik
Kraków, Poland – May 22–23, 2025
The 3rd Annual Meeting of the MISTRAL Project convened at AGH University of Kraków and later in Rybnik, bringing together leading researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore the intersection of digital innovation, public health, and environmental sustainability.
Day 1: Innovation and Co-Creation at AGH University
The event opened with a workshop titled “AI Digital Policy for Just Health – How to Value and Deliver Innovation”, focusing on the valorisation of innovations emerging from the MISTRAL project. Keynote speakers from across Europe, including experts from the University of Milan, University of Oxford, and the University of Nottingham, shared insights on:
- Data as Innovation: Exploring AI, natural-based solutions, and digital twin policies.
- Modeling Planetary Health Data: Case studies from Taranto, Rybnik, and Flanders highlighted predictive modeling and socio-environmental data integration.
- Expert Roundtable: Discussions on knowledge valorisation, IP management, and public health applications.
Participants engaged in a Co-Design Lab, collaboratively drafting a roadmap for exploitation and integration of MISTRAL innovations into policy and practice.
The day concluded with a General Assembly, a guided tour of Kraków, and a networking dinner.
Day 2: Field Insights and Stakeholder Engagement in Rybnik
The second day shifted to Rybnik, where local authorities and health institutions welcomed attendees. Highlights included:
- Project Status & Achievements: Updates on MISTRAL’s progress and case studies from Taranto, Hasselt/Genk, and Rybnik.
- Stakeholder Roundtable: A dynamic dialogue with NGOs and city officials on environmental health, urban policy, and biodiversity.
- Cultural Visit: A tour of the historic Ignacy Mine offered a unique perspective on the region’s industrial heritage.
The meeting concluded with a farewell lunch and return to Kraków, marking another milestone in the MISTRAL project’s mission to harness digital innovation for healthier, more sustainable communities.
